Full Boise State Broncos Betting Preview:

The Boise State Broncos suffered quite a drop last year as they fell from a record of 11-2 in 2012 to 8-5 in 2013 and head coach Chris Petersen felt it was finally time to move on after leading the team to their greatest era of glory since he took over in 2006.

Petersen is a Northwest guy and is now head coach of the Washington Huskies as favorite son and alum Bryan Harsin takes over after a successful one season run at Arkansas State where he led the Red Wolves to a bowl. It will be interesting to see how things change this season under Harsin.

The offense should be improved as Harsin is an offensive guy but unless the defense improves it may not matter much. The good news is that the team plays in the Mountain West Conference which is simply not that strong.

2014 Boise State Broncos National Championship Odds: 325-1

2014 Boise State Broncos Offense: The offense last year under Peterson simply wasn’t that good. Harsin will look to get more out of an offense that returns senior quarterback Grant Hedrick. He is joined in the backfield by junior tailback Jay Ajayi who had 1,425 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. Also returning is senior wide receiver Matt Miller who may end up as the school’s all-time leader in receptions. The offense also has Shane Williams-Rhodes and tight end Jake Roh. The concern is an offensive line that has just two starters returning.

2014 Boise State Broncos Defense: The Boise State Broncos defense was a mess a year ago as they allowed 30 points or more in many of their games. They should be improved under new coordinator Marcel Yates. Six starters are back including linebackers Ben Weaver and Tanner Vallejo. Junior cornerback Donte Deayon and senior safety Jeremy Ioane lead the secondary and Corey Bell will be moving from linebacker to safety. The defensive line has ends Gabe Perez and Kamalei Correa along with junior tackle Armand Nance.
